Dubai’s best-known sights are spread along about 35 km of road, from Dubai Marina to the old souks in Deira. By taxi, every stop means a new car and another wait on the kerb, and a coach tour sets the order and the pace for forty people. A Dubai city tour with a private driver gives you the car for the day, and the plan stays yours.
We’re a chauffeur company, so the driver knows the best kerb at each stop and waits while you’re inside. You decide where to go and how long to stay. It works like the rest of our private driver services: one fixed quote, agreed on WhatsApp before the day.
How a private city tour with a driver works
Send us the hotel, the date, a start time, how many people (with children’s ages, for seats) and a rough list of places. We suggest an order that avoids doubling back and reply with a fixed quote for the hours. Pricing follows our hourly chauffeur hire, so extra time is agreed in advance.
On the day, the driver collects you from the hotel lobby. At each stop you say roughly how long you’ll be. Where parking is tight, the driver waits in the nearest car park and comes back to the kerb when you’re ready.
The quote covers the car, the driver, fuel and Salik or Darb tolls on the route unless it says otherwise. Child seats come on request. Entry tickets, meals and guides are yours to arrange.
Sample Dubai city tour with a private driver (about 9 hours)
A full day of old and new Dubai, starting from a Dubai Marina hotel.
| Time | Stop | Time there |
|---|---|---|
| 09:00 | Pickup in Dubai Marina | |
| 09:20 | Burj Al Arab photo stop, Jumeirah | 20 min |
| 10:10 | Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Bur Dubai | 60 min |
| 11:15 | Abra across Dubai Creek, then the Spice and Gold Souks in Deira | 75 min |
| 12:45 | Lunch | 60 min |
| 14:00 | Dubai Frame, Zabeel Park | 60 min |
| 15:15 | Dubai Mall and Downtown | 90 min |
| 17:00 | Burj Khalifa, At the Top (your booked slot) | 90 min |
| 18:30 | Dubai Fountain from the waterfront, then drop-off |
The order keeps the driving moving one way, Marina to the Creek, then back into Downtown for the evening. While you cross the Creek by abra, the driver goes round by road and meets you on the Deira side, so nobody walks back for the car. On a weekday we’d start after 09:00, once the school and office run on Sheikh Zayed Road has eased.
Book your At the Top slot before anything else, then build the stops around it. For a shorter morning, stop after the souks and you have a solid half day.
Abu Dhabi day trip by private car
From Downtown Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is about 130 km by road, roughly 1 hr 30 min to 1 hr 45 min each way outside rush hour. A full Abu Dhabi day trip with three main stops takes 10 to 11 hours door to door.
| Time | Stop | Time there |
|---|---|---|
| 08:00 | Leave Downtown Dubai or Dubai Marina | |
| 09:45 | Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque | 90 min |
| 11:45 | Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace | 90 min |
| 13:30 | Lunch near the Corniche | 60 min |
| 15:00 | Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island | 2 hr |
| 17:30 | Yas Island and a drive past Yas Marina Circuit | 30 min |
| 19:15 | Back in Dubai |
Visitors to the mosque must pre-book an online access pass. Fridays need care: visitor hours are 09:00 to 11:30 and 14:30 to 20:30, with the mosque closed to visitors over midday prayers (Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre). On a Friday, either be at the door at 09:00 or flip the day and see the Louvre first. Check the Louvre’s opening days when you book.
Yas Island sits on the Dubai side of the city, so it’s the natural last stop before the drive home. Tolls on the way are covered in the fare unless the quote says otherwise, and our Salik and Darb toll guide explains both systems. For more on the capital itself, see our chauffeur service in Abu Dhabi.
Which car for a private tour
A couple sightseeing for a day is well served by a Lexus ES sedan or an E-Class. It’s easy to drop at tight kerbs in Bur Dubai and comfortable for the motorway to Abu Dhabi.
Families of four to six should go bigger. A GMC Yukon Denali gives everyone a proper seat. With small children, choose the Mercedes V-Class: the sliding doors make ten stops in a day much easier, and child seats stay fitted all day. Groups of seven or more go in a Sprinter.
What affects the price of a private tour
The fixed quote depends on the hours booked, the car class, the distance (an Abu Dhabi day adds about 260 km of motorway), tolls on the route and the start time. Waiting while you’re inside a site is part of the hours, so there’s no separate waiting charge during the booking.
Starting a tour from the airport
On a long layover at DXB, if your passport lets you leave the airport, we can meet you in arrivals with a name board, keep your bags in the car and run a short loop of Downtown and the Creek. Our Dubai airport pickup page covers the terminals. Leave plenty of time for check-in and security on the way back.
Day trips to the other emirates
Sharjah’s heritage area is about 25 km from Downtown Dubai, but the Dubai to Sharjah road is slow at rush hour, so go mid-morning. Our Sharjah chauffeur service covers the city.
Al Ain, inland in Abu Dhabi emirate, is about 130 km from Downtown Dubai, with the Al Ain Oasis and the drive up Jebel Hafeet. Ras Al Khaimah city is about 110 km north, with the Jebel Jais mountain road beyond it, and our Ras Al Khaimah driver service has local detail. Fujairah is about 120 km east, across the Hajar Mountains to the Gulf of Oman coast.
