The Camry is the plainest car in our business sedan class, and we’d rather say that up front. It’s a four-door Toyota saloon, comfortable and reliable, with nothing in the back that will impress anyone. You book it for the service around it. The fare is fixed before you fly, and the driver has tracked your flight and is standing in arrivals with your name on a board.
Who should book a Toyota Camry with driver, and who shouldn’t
Book it if you’re one or two people with normal luggage, you’re going from the airport straight to where you’re staying, and price is the deciding factor. It also works for companies moving staff or crew between the airport and their accommodation.
Skip it for a client pickup or a wedding, or if you’re arriving with four suitcases. The Camry looks a lot like the cars at the taxi rank, because Dubai Taxi has run Camrys in its fleet, and some guests will read it that way. For those trips the Lexus ES is the obvious step up, with a quieter cabin and a badge that reads as a private car.
How many suitcases fit in a Toyota Camry?
Two large check-in suitcases go in the boot, with room beside them for a couple of cabin bags or backpacks. That’s the load we book it for. A third large case usually ends up on the back seat, which costs you a passenger place. So a couple with three big cases is fine. Three adults with three big cases is not.
Golf bags, prams and boxed shopping from Dragon Mart need a bigger car. Tell us what you’re carrying and we’ll match the vehicle.
What the back seat is like
The current ninth-generation Camry arrived in the UAE in August 2024, with a 2.5-litre petrol engine (201 hp) or a 2.5-litre hybrid (227 hp). Toyota UAE lists a sunroof and an 8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on its 2.5L grade (Toyota UAE).
In the back you get a proper three-seat bench, air conditioning and enough legroom for two adults on a 30-minute transfer. There are no rear screens or massage seats. On the run from DXB to Deira, Al Barsha or Sharjah, nobody misses them.
Airport runs where the Camry makes sense
Short, simple trips are its strength. Arrivals at Sharjah International Airport heading into Sharjah city or Al Nahda, or a Dubai airport to Sharjah transfer for a family visit, are typical Camry jobs. So is an early-morning drop at DXB Terminal 2 for a flydubai departure.
It can do the long runs too, to Abu Dhabi or Ras Al Khaimah. For one passenger with a carry-on, no problem. For three adults, it’s worth paying for more space.
Camry or a taxi from the rank?
If you land at a quiet hour with one bag and don’t mind queueing, a metered taxi does the job. Our taxi vs private transfer guide sets out the trade-offs. The Camry earns its place after a night flight, when you want the fare settled in advance and the driver already waiting as you walk out. Like every car we send, it’s RTA-licensed for chauffeur hire.
Booking tips
Message us with the flight number, the number of passengers and the number of large bags. If any of those is more than the Camry handles, we’ll tell you straight away and suggest the next car up rather than squeeze you in.
