When to book a Rolls-Royce Phantom with driver
Book the Phantom when the arrival itself is part of the occasion. A head of family returning home. A state-level guest. A gala evening at a hotel ballroom. A wedding where the couple’s car leads the convoy. It is the most formal car in our ultra-luxury range.
Rolls-Royce draws the line itself. It calls the Phantom Extended “the definitive super-luxurious chauffeur-driven experience” and says the standard Phantom is mainly favoured by owners who want to drive. If the day is a celebration rather than protocol, the Rolls-Royce Ghost gives you the same doors and badge in a smaller car.
Inside the rear cabin
The rear doors are hinged at the back, so the guest steps out facing forward, straight towards the entrance. The broad rear pillar keeps passengers out of view from the side, and Rolls-Royce describes it as giving occupants greater privacy. It suits guests who would rather not be photographed through a window.
Rolls-Royce also offers a Privacy Suite. It adds a glass partition that turns opaque at the press of a button, an intercom the rear passenger controls (the chauffeur can call through, the passenger accepts or declines), a lit aperture for passing documents forward, two 12-inch monitors with HDMI mirroring and extra acoustic damping so rear conversations stay in the rear. It is an option, not standard. Ask whether the car for your date has it.
What to tell your Phantom chauffeur
Protocol arrivals go well when the chauffeur knows the plan before the engine starts. Send us:
- Who sits where. In a UAE left-hand-drive car the senior guest normally takes the rear right seat, so the chauffeur opens that door first.
- The exact arrival point: main entrance, side entrance or a private gate. Many hotels and residences have more than one.
- Whether a security team or lead car travels with you, and who the chauffeur takes instructions from on the road.
- What the name board at arrivals should say.
- Cabin preferences: temperature, silence or music, partition open or closed if fitted.
Our chauffeur etiquette guide covers the rest, from door opening to tipping.
Airport arrivals at Zayed International and DXB
In Abu Dhabi, every airline now uses Terminal A at Zayed International. From there to Saadiyat Island is about 35 km, usually around 25 minutes without heavy traffic, and Yas Island is about 7 km. Abu Dhabi Airports also lists its own Meet and Assist concierge. If you’ve booked it, tell us, so the chauffeur waits at the right point. Terminal details are on our Abu Dhabi airport transfer page, and longer VIP programmes are covered by our VIP limousine service.
At DXB and every other airport we cover, we track the flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free. Two large cases fit in the boot. A party with more luggage should add an SUV or van behind the Phantom.
Phantom or Maybach
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class reclines further, with Executive seats that go back to 43.5 degrees, and it draws less attention at the door. The Phantom is the bigger statement and the more private cabin. For a working visit, the Maybach. For ceremony, the Phantom.
To book, send the date, flight or pickup address, the guest count and any protocol notes on WhatsApp. We reply with a fixed fare.
